More oversizeness (We need it!)

Ok, two things. First, let's go back to last year's fall/winter fashion season. I know I know, it's 2012/2013, but hey, real beauty lasts longer than a season, so what the heck. I told about my Stella McCartney's coat earlier and I love it so much, as well as all of its seasonal brother and sister coats back then, that I just need to share their pictures, right here, right now (Fatboy Slim starts playing.. - ok sorry, I'm getting a little distracted here). Picture # 6: my coat. Picture # 2: my want-to-have-too-if-only-I-had-had-the-budget-coat (of course this applies to all five coats not owned by me, but, modest as I am, I'm picking just one ;-) ).

Then there is this other coat - from this season, fieuw! - that I need to show. It's a trench coat from Vivienne Westwood's Red Label that also would do so well in my wardrobe. Again however: if only if only (I had the budget), so instead of buying I'm posting it on the blog, so it gets to belong to me just a tiny little bit (not, but I like to think that it does ;-) ).

Long story short: Oversizeness rules!!

Found on the street

Ok, not totally 'on the street' - it was standing outside this vintage furniture shop that I passed on my bike. Wait a minute!! I said to myself spotting it (immediate U-turn, brakes squeaking - you get the image). Ten minutes later I found myself continuing my way with a chair on the back of my bike. Easy peasy!

Shanghai totems

Contemporary China reflected in French photographer Alain Delorme's fantastic new Totems series. Fascinating and colourful. Check out some of his photos below.

It's been a bit quiet on the blog lately with sweet little Rosa having arrived to our lifes. But, slowing waking up from my baby-loving-feeding-caring-cocoon, I am finding some time again to figure out ideas and thoughts that are not just baby related. ;-)

So, as promised, here is a little post about Het Paradijs, a cute little shop annex studio located in the Klarendal district of Arnhem, where nice, often surreal/funny/animals involving illustrations - think dogs holding cup cakes or bunnies riding bicycles - are created and sold in print or accessories like posters, bags and cards. One of the owners is actually the designer of the cool 'Take a Bath' teaset I wrote about before. Anyhow, a perfect little shop to find yourself (ok ok, or a friend!) a gift or two.

She's there!

Rosa, born on 3 October 2012. She's the sweetest and most beautiful girl and we're enjoying every single second with her. Welcome little one!

I'm not kidding: the first thing I said when seeing this image was "WOW!". So I guess the name of Mae Engelgeer's new collection of fabrics - developed at the Textile Museum in Tilburg, The Netherlands - fits pretty well. ;-) For more images of the collection, check out Studio Mae Engelgeer's website.

Thank you Mr. Delivery Man for my new coffee table book!

Scott Schuman's second book "The Sartorialist, Closer" is out. Again great photos and inspiration (so another thank you to Mr. Sartorialist himself!).

Ok. Zolamanola. I don't think I did any posting about this shop in Utrecht yet, but it's about time. Why? Simple. It's one of my favorite shops ever. They sell Isabel Marant, Vanessa Bruno, Hope, Acne, Monique van Heist, Humanoid and many other cool brands. Oh, do I love the MOMA shoes they sell, not to even mention the jewelry of Wouters & Hendrix!

Zolamanola's collection was getting bigger every year (making it more and more difficult to go in and not become a creature of total greediness), so their shop at Mariaplaats 2 became too small, resulting in their recent move around the corner to Springweg 10. I really liked their old address, but their new place sure too is a delight: bright, spacious and even more pretty things to gawk at. Below is just a little selection of photos that I took. If you want to see more, there's just one solution: go there! :-)

Geometrical planting

The oversized coat. I love him (or should I say her?). He's like a cosy blanket leaving room for big woolen sweaters and stuff and providing a little home for when it's cold. And looking at this year's fall/winter collections, he's pretty 'hot' in fashion land right now. I remember Stella McCartney having an oversized winter coat collection last year (in fact I'm the lucky owner of one of those coats, a double-breasted blue one). Colours were then pretty basic, but now it's a lot of bright bright colours that I see. Personally I prefer the more basic-coloured coat that goes with everything and doesn't get bored after time, but all these happy colours sure are nice. At least we have one good reason to look forward to the cold! :-)

The result!

Thanks for the colour advices. At the end we decided it should be red. Not my favorite colour usually, but this bright orangish-red just seemed the right colour for our vintage rocking chair. Pretty happy with the result!
