Hey, it's you!

Remember him? I thought I'd give him a little change of scenery, so here he is, my little Ischigualasto friend, nestling in a Lenneke Wispelwey (who keeps on popping up on this blog for some reason) cup together with his nature friends Stone and Lavender enjoying the good life!

The sun in the sky (you know how I feel)

@ Flims, Switzerland (where I just spend a great week of skiing / sauna-ing / relaxing - yeah, you do know how I feel!)

Natural beauty

As much as I love nature, at the end culture really inspires me the most. It just pleases me more aesthetically, at least generally. I've travelled a bit and although I have always loved it to be surrounded by nothing but nature (which can contain such awesomeness - think the vast landscapes of Mongolia, the immense forests of Russia, Iguazu falls, Halong Bay in Vietnam, ...), the places/moments that are stuck in my memory the most are those where there was also a human interference. I'm thinking of the beautifully dressed people in Mongolia and northern Vietnam, temple-scattered Bagan in Myanmar (Burma), the churches of Ethiopia, Petra in Jordan and so much more (oh and don't even get me started on the food!!!!). Currently though I get very inspired by natural beauty in the literal sense - stones, shells, coral, plants, stuff like that. You can find more of this on my 'Natural beauty' board on Pinterest if you like. I guess at the end my dream thing is a combination of nature & culture - like the natural beauties displayed in my Iittala Vitriini box below. Enjoy your Tuesday!

New best friends forever?

What do you think of my new shoes? I was looking for black lace up shoes for quite some time, but just couldn't find nice ones. Until I saw these in a magazine, first tried them at Croccodillo in Antwerp (where they didn't have my size) and finally ended up buying them at Church's in Amsterdam (at a 40% discount - yay!!!). I like it that they're not too fine and not too sturdy either. And they're also super comfortable! Perhaps I should glue them to my feet so that I have no other option.. but to wear them till eternity :))))
